Plenty is written about live dealer games being more trustworthy than software. Some of that is true and some of it is marketing. The last row is the one nobody mentions. A low edge played two hundred times an hour can cost more than a high edge played thirty times. Pace matters as much as percentage, and live tables are slow by construction, while M2 slot games run as fast as you can tap.

Three Beliefs Worth Dropping at the Table
- That you can read the dealer. A croupier dealing from a shuffled shoe knows exactly as much as you do about what comes next, which is nothing.
- That card counting applies here. Frequent and often continuous shuffling removes the conditions it needs. Correct basic blackjack play is the available edge, and it is published.
- That a run means anything. Independent events do not owe you a correction. Eight bankers in a row changes the ninth hand not at all.

It just means the value is in the bet you choose, not in anything you can observe. The delay
Why Betting Closes Before the Deal
Every live stream carries a short delay. If betting stayed open right up to the card appearing, somebody on a faster connection would be acting on information others did not have yet.
Closing the window early removes that entirely. It is why the timer runs out before anything happens rather than as it happens, and it is one of the quieter pieces of engineering that keeps a table honest. Straight Answers on Live Tables
Is live dealer fairer than a slot?
Neither is unfair, and both are independently checked. What differs is where the result comes from: a physical deal you can watch, or a certified number generator you cannot. The edge is published either way.
Can I count cards at a live blackjack table?
Not usefully. Shoes are shuffled frequently and often continuously, which removes the conditions counting depends on. Correct basic play is where the real gain is, and that is public information.
Does watching the dealer tell me anything?
No. A croupier dealing from a shuffled shoe has no more information than you do, and no influence over the order of the cards. There is nothing to read.
Why do live tables have fewer bet types than slots have features?
Because the maths has to be verifiable in front of a camera. That constraint is what keeps table edges low and transparent, where a slot's return is buried in a configuration file.
Is the stream delayed?
There is a small delay, which is why betting closes before the deal rather than at it. Nobody can act on information the stream has already shown.
Which should I play?
