Slot Jackpot Types: Fixed, Progressive and Network Jackpots

The idea

What Makes a Prize a Jackpot

A jackpot is a slot’s top prize, kept apart from the ordinary paytable. What separates one jackpot from another is where its money comes from, and whether the amount moves.

Fixed

Fixed Jackpots

The simplest kind: a top prize printed in the paytable, usually as a multiple of the stake. It never grows, and landing it at a higher stake pays proportionally more. Its cost is already built into the game’s return.

Progressive

Progressive Jackpots

A progressive jackpot grows as people play. A small slice of each eligible stake feeds a pool that keeps rising until someone wins it, then resets to a starting amount. A local progressive grows from one game; a network progressive links many games, which is why its pool can climb far higher.

Because part of every stake feeds the pool, the ordinary paytable on a progressive game often returns a little less than on a comparable fixed game. Where the studio publishes it, the information panel shows how the return is split between the two.

Campaigns

Campaign Jackpots Like Lucky365’s

A campaign jackpot is run by a promotion rather than built into a single game. At M2 the current one belongs to Lucky365: RM1,500,000 in jackpot money across its slots, exclusive prizes on the way, and every eligible spin counting toward it. The campaign’s own terms say which titles take part and how the jackpot is won - the M2 Win promotions page has it. If you have no account yet, the M2 Win registration steps are set out on a page of their own.

The maths

What a Jackpot Does to the Odds

A large jackpot is a rare event priced into the game. It doesn’t make the ordinary wins more likely, and a bigger stake raises what you spend on the way. Treat the jackpot as a bonus on top of a game you would play anyway, not a reason to play it. How return and volatility work across our slot floor is covered on a separate page.

Questions

Slot Jackpots - Straight Answers

What is the difference between a fixed and a progressive jackpot?

A fixed jackpot is a set prize in the paytable that never changes. A progressive jackpot grows with every eligible stake until someone wins it, then resets.

What is a network jackpot?

A progressive pool shared by many linked games, so it grows from far more play than one game and can reach much larger amounts.

How does the Lucky365 jackpot at M2 work?

A campaign jackpot worth RM1,500,000 across Lucky365’s slots, with exclusive prizes too. Its terms name the qualifying titles and explain how the jackpot is won.
